Buyer needed for an 8-12 week contract position with a global manufacturer of motion control components located in Vandalia, OH. Your responsibilities will be: * Understand User requirements, review/clarify SOW/LOR. Sourcing, analysis of quotes/proposals, negotiating prices and terms, making a supplier selection proposal that fits purpose (correct quality and correct lead time) with reasonable TCO (total cost of ownership) and competitive credit terms for all responsible site-level categories and regional-level categories. * Prepare purchase orders after Indirect Expenditure SOPs and follow-up purchase order approvals, completing the PO/contract/PO supporting document in accordance with related SOPs and work instructions. * Tracking the fulfillment of purchase orders and receipt of goods in the ERP system * Identify opportunities for continuous improvement (including but not limited to cost savings opportunities and process improvements), find and implement practical solutions, engage as requested by supervisor/manager with improvement projects initiated by others. * Prepare reports per supervisor/manager requirement, including but not limited to monthly expense reports and analysis, recurring and non-recurring cost savings reports, overdue purchase order reports. * Provide referral support and purchases to other regions as needed. * Educate users to ensure related SOPs are followed. Manage the User's expectations through appropriate communication. Required Qualifications: * 2+ Years of Purchasing experience. * Excel knowledge * ERP/MRP experience * Vending and/or VMI experience * Good communication and presentation skills * Ability to analyze and negotiate the total cost of ownership. * Ability to work well in a team. * Ability to work well in a fast paced and high demanding environment. * General knowledge of manufacturing processes and services Preferred Qualifications: * Purchasing and/or lean manufacturing certifications * Quality and Environmental regulation experience such as ISO 9001, 13485, 14001, and FDA * Project management techniques * Low volume, high complexity automation and MRO experience * Sustainable supply chain techniques After you have applied, download our Staffmark Group WorkNOW App to receive real-time job offers and apply for additional opportunities.
