Job Brief Human Factors Psychologist DCS Corporation is an employee-owned organization with a reputation for agile and efficient development of technology solutions for U.S. Defense, Aerospace, Human Factors, and Security markets. DCS is seeking a Human Factors Psychologist to support our research efforts and learn about the research process while working with customers such as the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH. In this role, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team to research various aspects of teaming among both human and autonomous teammates, including team communications, trust in autonomy, and development of user interfaces to analyze performance. Our group is studying many developments in artificial intelligence and machine learning, such as explainable AI, reinforcement learning, and natural language processing, and using them to create advanced system prototypes in defense-relevant domains. A Human Factors Psychologist is needed to support the multi-disciplinary research and development team that is comprised of computer scientists, electrical engineers, cognitive systems engineers, human factors psychologists, computational linguists, and software engineers. Essential Job Functions: As this Human Factors Psychologist, you could expect to: Prepare and present autonomous behavioral data to small groups to facilitate qualitative assessments of AI. Elicit knowledge from subject matter experts to drive software development requirements. Learn about a variety of advanced technologies and application domains. Contribute to the development and evaluation of innovative team communication interfaces. Contribute to models of team behavior and performance. Conduct literature searches and reviews. Conduct data management activities including: data cleaning, archival, and auditing. Participate in data annotation and data analysis. Develop and/or review data transcriptions. Aid in report writing, journal publications, and conference presentations. Assist in development of experimental protocols for Institutional Review Board approval. Requirements: Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. At least a BS degree, in Human Factors Psychology/Engineering, or a related technical discipline; and at least some related experience. . Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: eligible to attain a Secret level U.S. DoD security clearance. Familiarity with conducting human subject testing in a laboratory setting. Ability to manage and execute experimental studies and assisting in planning the study, and interpret, disseminating the results. Ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to participate in limited intermittent travel (less than 10%). Desired: Experience in an aviation-related domain. Exposure to defense-related domains. Knowledge of statistics and/or machine learning techniques.
