ST NORBERT COLLEGE Assistant Manager of Phil's in DE PERE, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: St. Norbert College (SNC), a nationally-ranked, private, Catholic, liberal arts college is seeking an Assistant Manager of Phil\'s. This position is responsible for the functional supervision of Phil\'s grill and C-Store operations. The Assistant Manager will supervise, train, schedule and coordinate the work activities of 20 student workers, student leads, and student supervisors. Additional responsibilities include: mentoring, hiring, scheduling, training and directing staff, placing orders, preparing food, stocking and maintaining inventory. Specific responsibilities: Perform all operational job functions which include but are not limited to: preparing all menu items to order, receiving orders from customers and utilizing the POS, arrange and rotate stock, follow all health code and HACCP plans in place. - 50% Recruit, hire, develop, schedule, and mentor student staff. Author and maintain all student job aids, training material and programs. Create specific student training to mentor workers to leads to student supervisors. - 30% Assist with the monthly inventories and budget analysis and review. Ensures all food stock is properly rotated to ensure FIFO procedures. Maintain orderly coolers, freezers, storerooms and display shelving. Must have knowledge of all products on hand to assist the Dining Purchaser with weekly food and supply orders. Assist the Assistant Director of Dining - Retail in maintaining the established budgeted food cost percent to revenue, as well as labor percent to revenue. Phil\'s has an annual revenue budget expectation of almost \$1.2 Million; and a food budget of over \$528K. - 10% Maintain and utilize tools to foster an atmosphere of inclusivity and collaboration. - 5% Research, develop, implement, and fine tune sustainability initiatives and procedures in Phil\'s. Provide assistance to the Assistant Director of Retail Operations for annual staff development In Services, along with other initiatives for Phil\'s. - 5% Perform additional duties as assigned and attend College required training. Regular attendance is required. Work in a manner that is aware of personal safety and the safety of others and observe safety, health and sanitation codes, regulations, or practices required by the College or governmental authority. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Experience and Credentials - 3-5 years experience in food service or restaurant industry 2 years of supervisory experience. Able to obtain ServSafe Certification within 90 days of hire. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse campus environment or commitment to do so as an employee of St. Norbert College. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to interact professionally with coworkers and customers, particularly in conflict situations. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Ability to talk politely and resolve customer service issues. Ability to multitask, meet specific deadlines, and prioritize tasks and assignments. Skilled in basic math computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps) and ability to learn upgrades and new programs as needed. Ability to exercise good judgment and decisions in an expeditious manner. Skilled at setting a good example for others. Ability to concentrate and focus in a noisy environment. Knowledge of how to make a variety of drinks and food related to coffee shops. Ability to pass a post offer functional capacity test.
