The role of a Senior Software Engineer with the SAS IT product team at Ford Motor Credit Company entails a comprehensive set of responsibilities. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be tasked with the development and maintenance of products, while also spearheading the technology migration efforts for GCP. Your expertise will extend to leveraging various GCP tools and technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the team's modernization solutions, utilizing cutting-edge GCP services to drive innovation and optimize technological infrastructure within the organization.

What you will do…..

  • Collaborating with Business Partners to understand their product vision and translating it into a practical backlog of user stories for the development team

  • Providing technical expertise in Java-based development

  • Managing Development, Enhancements, and Production Support in the autonomous Product Driven Organization (PDO) team

  • Analyzing and resolving issues and providing rotational On-Call Support

  • Leading assignments with minimal direction and escalating issues as necessary to management

  • Being adaptable to respond to changing priorities

  • Gaining a deep understanding of the product and its challenges, and delivering value to the customer

  • Working with the Product Manager to comprehend the product vision

  • Collaborating with Portfolio and application architects, as required

  • Balancing "doing it right" with "speed to delivery" by identifying and mitigating risk, generating options, educating business and other decision-makers, and taking on justifiable technical debt

You'll have….

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

  • 7+ years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience with Cloud technologies, preferably GCP (GCS, Cloudrun, Big Query, Data Flow, etc.)

  • At least 1 year of experience with security vulnerability tools (e.g., FOSSA, Checkmarx, SonarQube), and code versioning tools (e.g., GitHub)

Even better, you may have…

  • Proficiency in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and apigee

  • Strong skills in Angular / React, and WAS Liberty

  • Experience with database management systems, including SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or BigQuery
