Job Summary

Working within the Medical and Clinical Affairs organization, the Senior Medical Writer will be primarily responsible for the preparation of clinical evidence communication materials to support global Convatec products. The development and dissemination of clinical evidence may include publications, conference abstracts/posters/presentations, and a variety of marketing collaterals. The successful Senior Medical Writer will engage cross-functional internal teams as well as external Health Care Professionals (HCPs) to create best-fit clinical evidence across our treatment solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Author manuscripts and prepare conference/congress content as well as associated marketing collaterals

  • Prepare clinical evaluation documents or similar for required regulatory clearances

  • Develop clinical study protocols, reports, and/or other clinical investigation materials to support clinical study programs

  • Perform literature searches and reviews to support study design, strategic decision making, novel methods, new technologies

  • Stay current on registered studies and published literature within relevant therapy spaces and advise internal teams accordingly

Required Experience & Skills:

  • BSc + 7–10 years’ relevant experience OR MSc + 3–5 years’ relevant experience OR PhD or equivalent in an appropriate subject

  • Experience in writing publications and/or clinical evaluation documents and/or clinical study documents

  • Experience in medical device/pharmaceutical industry

  • Knowledge of Good Publication Practice and ICMJE guidance preferred

  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice preferred

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Strong experience with Embase and/or PubMed

Travel Requirements:

Limited travel requirements. Travel within country may include quarterly team meetings at Convatec facilities and/or relevant scientific conferences. This role may involve limited international travel, maximum twice per year.
