Requisition Summary

As the supervisor of the Vehicle Definition Team, you will lead a team responsible for creating and managing product scope documents, maturing high-level requirements, gathering input from multiple internal stakeholders, supporting cross-functional teams with product investment quotes, and assisting engineering development teams in assessing the impact on vehicle systems.

Your team will collaborate with key teams including, mechanical and electrical, embedded software, Global Powertrain, Global Connected Services, Function Definition, and Product Planning.

In this role, you will drive the evolution of vehicle requirements, proposing and managing strategic thinking in how these requirements are structured. This involves ensuring the appropriate level of detail is provided for the target audience at each project phase, adhering to best practices and principles of systems engineering.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Planning and Program Management on the definition of projects.

  • Oversee the process of gathering, analyzing, and documenting vehicle level requirements.

  • Communicate project updates and progress to stakeholders, internal teams, and management.

  • Identify and mitigate potential issues to ensure project success.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes.

  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members.

  • Performance evaluations of team members and identify opportunities for development.

Skills / Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 7+ years of project and requirements management.

  • 3+ years of supervisorial experience preferred.

  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

  • Effective presentation skills for technical or executive audiences.

  • Demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to balance workloads.

  • Experience with IBM Doors Next Generation or similar requirements management databases preferred.

  • Skilled in systems engineering with a preference for INCOSE standards.

  • Ability to leverage AI-powered language generation tools such as CoPilot or ChatGPT.

  • Focus on interdepartmental communication.
