About the role:

We are Worldpay for Platforms. We have a rich 25-year history of being the author, scaler, and leader of integrated payments. Today our business serves over one thousand software companies and over 700K of their end-software users with their payment solutions. The needs of these end-users continue to evolve and the role of Integrated Payments and Payment facilitators in this market is unfolding rapidly. We at Worldpay for Platforms will be the partner of choice for an expanded suite of Value-Added Service products that seamlessly extend the existing Worldpay for Platforms experience.

As an Engineering Team Lead, you will help shape the future of the Payrix Platform by leading the development of the next generation highly scalable ledger system systematically tracking all the fine-grained money movements between business entities on the platform.

What you'll own:

Technical Leadership

Requirements Development: Interact with product and other mission teams (transactions processing, disbursements, fees, billing, and pricing, reporting and reconciliation) to fully develop precise requirements for the ledger system.

Code Reviews: Ensure a solid code review process within the team.

Architecture Guidance: Provide technical guidance on system architecture and design choices.

Problem Solving: Assist team members in solving technical challenges.

Hands-on coding: Be a player-coach, doing hands-on coding on regular basis.

Non-Functional Requirements: Stay focused on building a highly scalable, immutable, auditable, traceable ledger system with a high throughput, low latency, data integrity and consistency.

Internal Documentation: Maintain a high-quality internal documentation of the ledger APIs, interfaces, and system design.

Observability: Ensure that the system is highly observable so that debugging and resolving production issues is a breeze.

Team Leadership

Motivation and Mentorship: Inspire and mentor team members in best practices, design principles, patterns, and processes.

Skill Development: Mentor and coach junior developers, helping them grow their skills.

Conflict Resolution: Address conflicts within the team and facilitate resolution.

Communication

Stakeholder communication: Liaise with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals.

Status updates: Regularly communicate project status, milestones, and risks.

Collaboration: Foster collaboration between cross-functional teams.

Project Management

Prioritize projects based on customer and internal needs in consultation with product management, engineering, operations, and finance departments.

Help product in t-shirt sizing of initiatives during quarterly planning.

Work with product for sprint planning and assignment of tickets to individual team members.

Support the needs of all the mission teams that depend on the ledger (transactions, disbursements, fees, disputes, reporting).
