Job Family Description:

Jobs in this career family develop, maintain, and support computer systems, software and networks. Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed fully independently.

Position Emphasis/Nature of Work:

This position is responsible for supporting the successful continuous operation of the college's information systems and technology. This position sustains an IT environment conducive to the college's needs.

Windows-Specific Duties:

  • Primary technical support for CAM's Microsoft Windows computer labs in the 3D Graphics & Animation and National Center for Media Forensics (NCMF) programs.

  • Oversee replacement and rotation of Windows-based computer lab workstations.

  • Provide primary support for Microsoft Windows (and secondary support for macOS) hardware and software in CAM computer labs, including hardware repairs and upgrades, operating system configuration, system software updates, software installation, procedure automation, and operating system imaging.

  • Administer and maintain shared resources including but not limited to Microsoft Active Directory Container Manager, Group Policy Objects, Windows Remote Desktop in student labs, AWS Deadline Render Farm Management System and associated application plug-ins, Perforce version control system, and any subscription/cloud-based libraries/resources.

  • Provide guidance and expertise for Windows computer lab environments to internal constituencies.

General IT Support Duties:

  • Hire and manage a team of student employee Lab Monitors to assist with desktop support and equipment checkout for the Digital Animation computer labs. Duties include: training, mentoring, and timesheet approval.

  • Maintain servers throughout CAM, ensuring high level functionality of mission critical server resources.

  • Deployment of support to departments as needed; including but not limited to support for Digital Animation technology such as motion capture systems, 3D printers, VR headsets, and Camera Kits.

  • Assist with IT purchasing, receiving, and inventory management for all hardware, software, and associated warranties and licenses.

  • Act as co-administrator of Adobe Creative Cloud Admin Panel & Adobe application distribution, ListServ email distribution lists & other shared inboxes, and device management frameworks.

  • Support audio/visual systems in teaching spaces for both in-person and hybrid instruction.

  • As part of the CAM IT Help Desk team, provide faculty and staff desktop support for Windows and macOS.

  • Stay abreast of new technologies and make recommendations to IT Manager to bring new technologies to the lab and teaching environments.

  • Make recommendations to IT Manager regarding ways to use existing technology and new advances in technology to strengthen and secure the college's IT infrastructure and curriculum delivery system.

  • Ensure legal compliance for software licensing.

  • Support and maintain processes to assure digital security and privacy throughout CAM.

  • Monitor and evaluate current trends in technology related to desktop and laptop support.

  • Serve as backup for IT Manager on CAM and University committees as needed.

  • Ensure projects and daily tasks are executed efficiently and accurately.

  • All other duties and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, management/computer information systems, computer engineering, information technology, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

  • Substitution: A combination of relevant education and related technical/paraprofessional experience, totaling 4 years, may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.

  • An additional 2 years of experience in systems administration and/or information technology support services, with at least 1 of those years as a team lead.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience overseeing and/or leading information technology operations.

  • Experience working in a higher education or similar governmental setting.

  • Supervisory experience over IT staff.

  • Professional work experience working with Window's based operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, and VPN products.

  • Minimum of 5 years-professional experience working as an IT lead or administrator overseeing and performing installations, configurations and support of these technologies.

  • Ability to support a variety of Windows and Macintosh-based operating systems including hardware and software needs.

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting experience.

  • Knowledge of academic technology systems and applications with experience advancing these efforts to improve teaching, learning and academic support.

  • Knowledge and familiarity with all aspects of Windows, Windows server (both physical and virtual) environments, and macOS

  • Skilled in networking administration (printers, admin access, etc.).

  • Strong knowledge of classroom technology (projection systems, audio equipment, specialized software, etc.) Compensation and Benefits: The salary range for this position has been established at $75,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
