Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally, including Commercial Banking, Corporate and Investment Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, and the Investment Portfolio.

The Wholesale Chief Operating Office (COO) is responsible for Wholesale administration and operations as Wholesale Banking looks to transform its infrastructure, systems, and processes to be more efficient, simple, and consistent.

Wholesale Transformation Office

The Wholesale Transformation division within the Wholesale COO focuses on enabling improved customer experiences and building consistent processes and platforms across Wholesale. Wholesale Transformation is organized in four transformation pillars with digital components to each: Customer Onboarding, Loan Delivery, Loan Accounting, and Financial Crimes Automation & Digitization. Part of Wholesale Transformation, the Wholesale Transformation Office is responsible for leading and overseeing strategic goals and objectives across these pillars, as well as providing critical support functions like change implementation, business communications, strategy, governance, user experience, reporting, and engagement.

  • Loan Accounting is responsible for consolidating the loan accounting function by reducing platforms, establishing a loan accounting system for all Wholesale line of business, and providing integrated loan servicing and pricing capabilities.

  • Loan Delivery oversees the creation of consistent underwriting, fulfillment, and servicing process, and a better customer and team member experience.

The individual chosen will be responsible for leading a small team of full time resources and contractors/consultants as needed to plan and execute the complex change implementation to our lines of business and operations teams for Loan Accounting and Loan Delivery. This includes leading change implementation activities such as procedure guide writing, user guide writing, job aids, communications, partnering with L&D on training materials, becoming a subject matter expert at the change being delivered, developing implementation plans for the business readiness, and working closely with the business to ensure they are ready for that change. Candidates must be adept at proactively managing risk by anticipating, identifying, analyzing, and minimizing risks over the course of an implementation effort.

The role also involves creating and utilizing metrics and tracking/evaluating the performance of the change implementation of our large initiatives, while ensuring they adhere to appropriate policies and regulations.

This position requires strong experience in relationship management as it requires significant collaboration across Wholesale and the enterprise. This position will report to the Wholesale Transformation Office leader.

Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership skills including the ability to influence effectively in a matrix environment

  • Leadership experience with ability to effectively manage and engage teams

  • Ability to provide leadership by coaching, training, and mentoring

  • Recognizing the significance of competing priorities and strategies, and adjusting as necessary

  • Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability

  • Proven history in implementing large change initiatives with activities including communications, procedure and user guide writing, job aid help, partnering with Learning & Development team to help develop training and mapping out a detailed full implementation plan

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of strategic planning experience

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
