Senior UI Software Engineer - Security Products

The Fastly Security Products Console Engineering team is at the forefront of developing and operating Next-Gen security capabilities within the Fastly platform. We are seeking a Senior UI Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of our security products.

As a Senior UI Engineer, you will collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and UX designers to implement new features that address real-world security challenges. Your contributions will ensure our security products and systems are robust, scalable, and secure.

The software you develop will power both existing and future Next-Gen WAF security products, making a significant impact on the security landscape.

What You'll Do

• Write clean, modular, robust code to implement the desired requirements

• Take ownership of features from start to finish, facilitating review and discussion with peers and partners, and ensuring features, as implemented, meet product requirements

• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and other team processes

• Code optimization and performance tuning

• Partner with your engineering leaders to build out and execute on everything from project design to engineering standards

• Clearly communicate upward and outward to set and adjust expectations with your manager and partners

• We work collaboratively as a team, both synchronously and asynchronously, however the nature of this role requires a time zone compatible with the continental US

• Join our on-call rotation to ensure our customers have the best possible user experience

What We're Looking For:

• You must have a professional track record designing secure and user-friendly applications — Most Senior level engineers at Fastly have at least 5 years of related experience

• Experience developing with React and TypeScript

• A strong understanding of web performance and accessibility

• Experience building products at scale that actively take customer feedback into account

• Experience mentoring, guiding, and coaching team members and a passion for learning and sharing what you’ve learned with others

We’ll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:

• Experience with component and design systems

• Experience working on security products

Work Hours:

• This position will require you to be available during core business hours and as needed for on call rotation.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. Relocation is not supported. Remote applicants will not be considered.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $167,790 to $209,740

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
