Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a sharp Senior Systems Administrator to join our elite, multi-discipline team of Engineers and Analysts on the MeshOne-T program, contributing to the pioneering effort to develop the next generation network capability for the U.S. Space Force, Air Force, and Mission Partners.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • Active Secret clearance with willingness and ability to acquire TS/SCI

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

  • 6+ years of experience in a systems administration role with a record of steadily increasing responsibilities

  • Security+ certification with at least one of the following: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Server, VMware Certified Associate (VCA), AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

  • Working knowledge of Windows and RHEL administration (Windows 7/10/Server 2016, RHEL 6/7)

  • Working knowledge of security assessment/compliance products (HBSS, ACAS, OpenSCAP, ePO, SCC)

  • Basic knowledge of VMware vSphere/ESXi 6

  • Understanding of network fundamentals (IP, Ethernet)

  • Experience with virtualized operating system concepts and administration.

  • Experience with system automation and configuration management

  • Familiarity with network administration of routers, switches, and firewalls.

  • Must be able to work in a production/operational environment

What Desired Skills You Might Bring :

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

  • Leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong Troubleshooting skills

  • Experience within an Agile framework environment

  • Proficient with automation tools (Chef zero/solo/server or similar equivalents)

  • Proficient with Ruby or Python

  • Management of virtualization, cloud and container technology (VMware workstation/vSphere/vCenter/ESXi, AWS EC2/S3/Glacier, Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift)

  • Experience with automation and deployment of virtualized platforms (VMs, Containers, other)

  • Experience with Linux, and the Microsoft Windows operating systems.

  • Familiarity Windows Active Directory domains and Windows server administration.

  • Experience with storage administration and provisioning Familiarity Linux LDAP domains and Linux server administration.

  • Experience with shell scripting languages (e.g., BASH).

What You'll Be A Part Of :

Work with The US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) technology requirements to establish a common data transport capability as the foundation for the meshONE-T network of terrestrial components for access across all mediums and warfighting domains as a communications service provider enabling the “Battle Network” of the future.

You will work within an integrated team to develop the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Data Transport as a Service (DTaaS) Prototype for SMC to combine new and future disparate communication efforts into a coherent pilot project, then scale the network to support the needs of the USSF Mission Partners (MP), future sensors, and systems. The DTaaS provides space and terrestrial Data Transport services in support of USSF Missions, and Cross Mission Ground/Enterprise Corp to connect Sensor-to-Shooter, provide Inter-Nodal Secure Transport Communication Links, and access to Cloud-based services.

The team will create the prototype DTaaS service design, develop and field the MVP service solution, develop and field DTaaS nodes, deliver a DTaaS Service Catalog, complete a trade analysis with recommendations, plan migration to the Government DevSecOps platform, and field and operate an initial ESD/NOC.

Salary Range:

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
