Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant in Denver, Colorado, 80216-4214, United States. The role involves a variety of accounting functions, including accounts receivable, general ledger management, and fixed assets. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity that will involve working in a busy, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting tasks as assigned, such as accounts receivable and general ledger

• Maintain and manage fixed assets

• Prepare bank account reconciliations and handle the discrepancy between the general ledger and the cash management module

• Reconcile prepaid assets on a monthly basis and record the appropriate journal entries

• Compile and process monthly invoicing for government contracts

• Prepare monthly fixed asset reports and coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure accurate recording of capital assets

• Ensure the accuracy of the fixed asset ledger and record retirements correctly

• Assist in annual audit preparation and support

• Write and input journal entries into the general ledger as needed

• Identify and advise on changes to current processes within the position's responsibilities

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role.

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations.

• Familiar with maintaining and updating General Ledger.

• Ability to prepare and post Journal Entries.

• Experience in executing Month End Close procedures.
