Job Summary:

The Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Collegiate Program (DFEI) at the University of Colorado Denver Business School incorporates and promotes principle-based business ethics through education, student programs and events and programs open to the community. The Business School's DFEI is part of a larger Consortium of similar programs supported by the Daniels Fund across the Rocky Mountain region.

The Program Coordinator plays an integral role in assisting with operations of the program. Under supervision of the Director of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing comprehensive events, meetings, and activities, ensuring they are executed professionally and successfully. In addition, this position is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing communication and marketing strategies to accomplish targeted goals of the DFEI.

The Program Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the full complement of initiatives overseen by the DFEI, including day to day operational needs. The position requires a high level of professionalism, senior leader interactions, written and verbal communication skills, tact & meeting facilitation. The position requires a high level of organization and multi-tasking skills, as well as the ability to work under pressure in a deadline driven environment. The position requires the ability to occasionally work after-hours and weekends.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizes & coordinates DFEI events and initiatives

  • At the direction of the DFEI Director, plans and coordinates DFEI events such as seminars, speaker series, workshops and other activities, including large-scale events often exceeding 100+ in-person and virtual/remote attendance via webinars.

  • Responsible for organizing and handling the marketing, promotion, and registration for an event, consistent with guidelines for the Business School brand, applications to participate in events, creation of DFEI event registration websites, webinar set-up (if applicable), event set-up, and event follow-up (attendee reports, evaluations, news stories). Works effectively with DFEI Director to meet event mission and goals.

  • Responsible for event management, including event timeline, run of show, AV coordination, catering and procurement. In coordination with the DFEI Director, responsible for venue selection.

  • Communicates logistical information and provides on-site supervision and assistance during DFEI events.

  • In coordination with the DFEI Director, helps with the creation and management of DFEI event budgets, including reconciliation of all expenses.

  • Prepares documents, signage and other event materials as needed per DFEI event.

  • Arranges travel and processes travel reimbursements for speakers, faculty, and students.

  • Travels to and attends offsite ethics events (DFEI budget permitting).

Marketing/Communication/Public Relations:

  • Collaborates closely with the Business School marketing team on the below responsibilities.

  • Writes, designs and maintains all web content for the DFEI sections of the Business School Website ensuring key messages are communicated for external and internal parties to measurably promote program objectives Designs, writes and creates all marketing material and collateral used to promote DFEI events and initiatives.

  • Coordinates all messaging and promotions for events and initiatives, maintaining a marketing calendar that targets all DFEI stakeholders and targeted audiences.

  • Builds, maintains, and manages master email/contact lists via our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.

  • Attends events, ensuring positive brand representation.

  • Creates digital and print materials including posters, postcards, brochures, and flyers and coordinates production of branded promotional merchandise and signage.

  • Designs, copy writes, deploys, and monitors advertising campaigns on social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, multiple internal and external event calendars, and Business School Newsroom Blog.

  • Manages search campaigns including tracking keywords, revising ad copy, targeting and retargeting desired audiences.

  • Responsible for public and media relations including writing and distributing press releases, pre- and post-event news stories and coordinating with local, national, and CU-specific outlets to generate awareness of news and events.

  • Searches for ethics-related material (e.g., news stories) to post on the DFEI Consortium web site, along with events of the Business School's DFEI.

Other administrative duties

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administrative and operational activities under the guidance of the Director.

  • Assists the Director with budget management and tracks expenditures for review by the Director.

  • Supports the Director as needed with conference registrations, travel preparations and reimbursements, and scheduling meetings.

  • Monitors the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative to ensure compliance with overall program guidelines.

  • Sends out surveys and analyzes the quantitative and qualitative data to be used in the Daniels Fund Annual Report.

  • Monitors ethics outreach and events. Tracks the number of attendees that receive ethics education through classroom instruction, printed materials, programs, and Ethics Fellows' activities.

  • Works with the Director, faculty, and students to develop gamification of ethics learning on apps such as Kahoot!

  • Other duties as assigned.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The hiring range for this position has been established at: $22.00 to $24.00 / hour. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business, Communications, Liberal Arts, STEM, or related fields.

  • Substitution: years of experience can substitute on a year for year basis for a bachelor's degree

  • One year of experience working in a professional role requiring the ability to solve problems, balance multiple priorities, attend to details and provide excellent service to internal or external parties.

  • Experience in writing and publishing communications.

Preferred Requirements

  • One year of experience working at an institution of higher education or post-secondary related organization.

  • Experience with a CRM system such as Salesforce.

  • Experience with email marketing software such as Mail Chimp or Constant Contact.

  • Experience in Canva or other material creation tools not listed above.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
