A Day in the Life:

We’re looking for software engineers who will modernize Hertz’s tech stack and, in the process, ship delightful products to meet the ever-increasing demands of our customers.

What you will do:

You will lead a team of 5 developers and participate in the entire software development lifecycle. You will work with product managers and other engineers to envision, build, and deliver products.

• Analyze user requirements to define business objectives

• Envisioning system features and functionality

• Develop and test software

• Identify and resolve any technical issues arising

• Propose changes to the current infrastructure

• Develop technical designs for application development

• Write well-designed, testable code

• Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging

• Support continuous improvement, investigating alternatives and technologies, and presenting for architectural review

What We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in the technology industry and a B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent

• Proficiency in nextjs, reactjs and Node.js; Python could be a plus

• Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases

• Experience in writing unit tests and integration tests in Cypress or playwright

• Ability to design systems of significant complexity

• Ability to act as tech lead for projects end-to-end

• Strong communication skills. You must be able to work with cross-functional partners to gather requirements

• Strong product sense. You must be able to align your work with business objectives and make appropriate tradeoffs

• Learning mentality. You must be able to pick up new skills as needed and demonstrate a curiosity about new technologies.

We expect the starting salary to be around $120,000 to $150,000 with annual bonus and profit sharing eligibility. The actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience
