Assistant Controller

Our manufacturing client, located in Detroit, MI is looking for an Assistant Controller to join their team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate has managed Accounts Payable and has a solid understanding of SAP.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Complete and support the financial statement close on a month-end, quarter-end, and year-end basis.

  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations/analyses for balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Oversee some treasury functions to ensure timely payment of vendors and maintain accuracy of cash forecasts.

  • Provide oversight and training for 2 Accounts Payable direct reports.

  • Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations.

  • Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to participating in system improvements, impromptu analyses, and special projects as assigned

    Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)

  • SAP experience desired

  • Ceridian experience desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
