Live-In Nanny sought by The Bakers in Devon, PA, to care for twins with special needs demanding attentive care. One has ADD plus emotional dysregulation, and the other has nonspeaking Autism. 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Work on the weekends might be required.

 

Duties include assisting with the morning, afternoon, and evening routines, including cooking balanced meals, doing the children's laundry, folding the children's clothes, preparing snacks, and tending to the general and basic needs of the children while providing supervision to ensure their safety in day-to-day activities. Assisting children with activities of daily living, including feeding, toileting, and bathing. Driving the children to and from school, therapy, play dates, doctor's appointments, and playgrounds. Engaging the children in age-appropriate activities---including arts and crafts, free play, and games. In case of illness or injury, providing the necessary medical attention, such as taking the children's temperature and administering medications as directed. Instructing the children on proper health and personal care habits, such as diet, exercise, and toilet behavior. Assigning chores as appropriate to teach the children responsibility, self-control, and self-confidence. Creating a safe environment for the children by removing hazards and enforcing appropriate boundaries. Cleaning up (vacuuming/sweeping/wiping down) areas the children utilize. Organizing the children's closets, drawers, and toys. Fostering intellectual stimulation and enrichment. Assisting with therapies and interventions as necessary.

 

Requires a High School Diploma, or GED, or foreign equivalent and 24 months of experience with special needs children in any occupation. Must be willing to live on-site with the family.
