RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Acquire and manage the necessary resources including leadership support, financial resources, and key security personnel, to support information technology security goals and objectives and reduce overall organization risk.

  • Advise senior management on risk levels and security posture.

  • Advise Authorizing Official of changes affecting the organization’s cyber security posture.

  • Collect and maintain data needed to meet system cyber security reporting requirements.

  • Identify alternative information security strategies to address organizational security objectives.

  • Oversee the information security training and awareness program.

  • Participate in the development or modification of the computer environment cyber security program plans and requirements.

  • Prepare, distribute, and maintain plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures concerning the security of network systems operations.

  • Supervise protective or corrective measures when a cybersecurity incident or vulnerability is discovered.

  • Ensure that plans of actions and milestones or remediation plans are in place for vulnerabilities identified during risk assessment audits, inspections.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of data backup recovery

  • Knowledge of intrusion detection methodologies and techniques for detecting host and network-based intrusions.

  • Knowledge of controls related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of data.

  • Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, or governance relevant to cyber security for critical infrastructure.

  • Knowledge of new and emerging technologies.

  • Knowledge of current threat vectors

  • Knowledge of client and server operating systems.

    Responsibilities of this position also include, but are not limited to:

  • Attending mandatory, annual training sessions

  • Providing regular status reports to management summarizing progress, challenges, metrics, and recommendations

  • Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination

  • Attending recurring team meetings or huddles

  • Assisting in the development of new initiatives
