What you will do...

You will play a crucial role in supporting our merchants in developing suppliers and sourcing fresh produce. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and engage with produce providers, with a focus on finding sellers in the USA, Mexico, and Central America. Your expertise in negotiation and supply chain management will be essential in ensuring the availability of high-quality produce for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with merchants to understand their sourcing requirements and develop strategies to meet their needs.

  • Identify and evaluate potential produce providers, both domestically and internationally, with a focus on the USA, Mexico, and Central America.

  • Support merchants to negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, quality, and delivery schedules.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new sourcing opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.

  • Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, quality assurance, and compliance, to ensure seamless integration of the sourcing process.

  • Stay updated on relevant regulations and certifications related to produce sourcing and ensure compliance.

  • Oversee adherence to sustainability standards among suppliers, fostering industry-wide compliance with Walmart's policies.

  • Monitor suppliers' compliance and sustainability standards supporting the industry to comply with Walmart policies.

  • Regularly perform on-site inspections of supplier operations, product quality, food safety measures, and crop conditions

  • Support Sourcing Managers to monitor categories performance, providing support on project management and data analytics.

Min qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Business or related area, Supply chain experience or Agronomy experience

  • Experience working in produce/fresh/ food.

  • 2 years of experience in data analytics; Tableau, Power BI, SQL and Project Management

  • You must be in Doral, FL or within 50 miles of the office.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in the Fresh Produce industry

  • Experience in retail, manufacturing, or sourcing, experience working for a retailer, or major brand, importer/agent serving a major retail customer

  • Negotiation skills

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000.00-$110,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
