Job Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all mechanic equipment in the facilities in a timely manner. Must maintain a safe and clean work environment by following all TUI safety procedures and PPE requirements. The individual must act professional and respectful at all times. Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.

Work Performed

  • Be able to access all areas of machines and support equipment along with all areas of the facilities.

  • Must be able to work with speed and precision to meet deadlines.

  • Keep work area clean and pick up job site after all work is complete.

  • Check equipment for proper operation to ensure the job is complete.

  • Complete preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned.

  • Have knowledge of all hand tools and power tools needed to complete task assigned while using them in a safe manner.

  • Ability to use construction equipment and tools in a safe manner.

  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, check voltage and amperage on motors and pumps.

  • Ability to use oxy/acetylene equipment for cutting and brazing.

  • Ability to remove and replace pumps, motors, chemical pumps, well meters, and process meters and valves.

  • Ability to do basic carpentry work and assist with facility rehab work that k involves roofing, siding, window, doors and painting.

  • Have knowledge and use of computer skills, including word, excel and outlook, be able to use WAM system efficiently.

  • Act in a professional and respectful manner at all times.

Education or Experience:

High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses:

  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL license and pass DOT physical exam within 12 months of hire.

  • A license in one of the following is preferred but not required: Electrical, Well Driller/Pump Installer, Wastewater, Water or Plumbing.

    Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to write simple correspondence and complete documentation in a timely manner.

  • Ability to effectively present information to peers or supervision.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must also be able to read and use measuring devices.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by any and all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Individuals must pass a company pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to commencing work.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift up to 100 pounds, climbing, crawling, stooping, reaching, grasping, and standing.

  • Work also emphasizes visual acuity, hearing, and speech.
