Meta Child Safety Investigations Analyst in Dublin, Ireland

Summary:

The Central Investigations & Cybersecurity team is dedicated to keeping users of Meta technologies safe. We pride ourselves in helping prevent harm by applying deep subject matter expertise to identify and mitigate potential safety-related threats to keep Meta and its users more secure. Our team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced investigator who will have the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging, high-visibility risks the company faces and the opportunity to have a substantial impact.We are seeking an investigator with experience in understanding and mitigating child safety issues, as well as networks that may look to facilitate the coordination of harm against minors and vulnerable populations. In addition to having a strong investigative and analytical background, we are seeking an investigator who has experience making risk-based decisions and who is passionate about protecting people. The successful candidate will be able to assess and analyze large amounts of data in order to identify sources of potential threats and abuses, operate independently in a fast-paced environment, and proactively collaborate with teams across the company. Required Skills:

Child Safety Investigations Analyst Responsibilities:

  1. Develop an understanding of safety issues and how they impact Meta, our products and our communities, with a focus on understanding how bad actors may try to target minors and vulnerable populations

  2. Investigate complex cases and conduct deep analysis of potential threats that may manifest on Meta technologies

  3. Independently manage multiple analyses while effectively prioritizing time

  4. Identify sources of abusive behavior, quickly and accurately assessing the credibility of potential threats in order to mitigate risk of harm

  5. Work cross-functionally with other analytic and investigative teams across the company, including collaborating with Policy, Engineering and Integrity partners to improve the detection of behavior that violates our Community Standards

  6. Gather, analyze, and synthesize relevant data to identify potential abuse

  7. Work with graphic and sensitive content on a regular basis

  8. Conduct complex attribution and network investigations

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS degree or equivalent

  2. 5+ years professional experience in investigations or analysis in law enforcement, security, risk, or safety domains

  3. Investigative or analytical experience related to online harms against children and vulnerable populations

  4. Previous experience analyzing and assessing large amounts of data to detect critical and credible threats

  5. Experience working with graphic and/or objectionable content

  6. Subject matter knowledge on child safety, especially pertaining to various social media platforms, analytical tools, and online research tools

  7. Ability to work independently under high pressure situations and make sound decisions with little to no supervision

  8. Experience working with sensitive information in an environment with highly confidential material

  9. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

  1. Fluent in Portuguese (especially Brazilian Portuguese), Spanish, French, or other languages

  2. Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data analytics programming coding languages and data visualization tools

  3. Experience conducting child safety investigations, or similar, on behalf of a technology company

  4. Experience effectively managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and changing environment
