Amazon Construction Coordination Program Manager, DCC Communities in Dublin, Ireland

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an exceptional individual to join the Construction Coordination team as a Coordination Program Manager. We are a team of customer-obsessed Program Managers within the AMER Data Center Capacity and Delivery (DCCD) Business Management office. Our office provides coordination services, leads strategic initiatives, and drives reporting and communication efforts for our Controls, Construction, Critical Projects, and Commissioning customers across the organization. We thrive on operational efficiency, and we always insist on the highest standards. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating program coordination for the AMER DCCD Construction teams. You will be involved in the full life cycle of construction projects including activity from the start of the construction project through project execution and close out. You will work with highly-motivated experts from Engineering, Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, and Legal to complete key deliverables required to build AWS data centers. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator (both written and verbal), not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities, and have a basic understanding of data center construction, and a drive to learn and be curious. They will be detailed oriented and apply a variety of program coordination tools, methodologies, and techniques that support quick and efficient purchasing across all construction disciplines.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Cost Controls, Accounting, or applicable degree; experience can be substituted for degree

-3+ years construction contract management and/or construction-related accounting and/or vendor management

  • 3+ years as a Windows and Microsoft Office Suite power user

  • Experience creating budgets and forecasts from historical data

  • Experience using Procore

Key job responsibilities

• Creates and maintains new projects on the construction management software.

• Responsible for tracking project status and relaying the information to internal and external teams and business partners.

• Responsible for tracking change orders and update the tracker as and when change occurs

• Manage the invoicing tool and make sure it is being used to create invoices for the project.

• Construction document management including submittal review, RFI’s, change orders, and invoicing and ability to use project management tools for the same.

• Handle basic trouble shooting of the software and escalate when required with the technical team

• Partners with the Construction Manager to coordinate and resolve documentation issues and other admin issues with respect to the software

• Compile pertinent metric information and publish to program leadership on a regular basis

• Be able identify roadblocks, drive the resolution of problems, and either manage their resolution or ensure a clear hand-off to the right owner.

• Interact with the clients and help the clients with the use of the software

• Onboard new clients as well as carry out refresher training to the old clients from time to time.

• Support the construction managers with the creation of work orders and documentations for the same.

• Audit the software on regular basis.

• Managing and tracking Requests for Quotes (RFQs)

• Compiling and submitting Work Order (WO) and Change Order (CO) requests

• Submitting Purchase Requests (PRs)

• Managing Purchase Orders (POs)

• Managing PO invoicing

• Managing monthly product and service accruals

• Maintaining and tracking the status of contracts, budgets, and spend

• Implementing and maintaining coordination- and finance-related reports and dashboards

• Writing and maintaining team documentation and training

About the team
