AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. Key job responsibilities

As a Network Development Engineer you will:

· Provide critical on-shift network operations support to AWS network to respond, diagnose, mitigate impact, and resolve large-scale events.

· Identify and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, devices, performance, and configurations issues.

· Support and maintain AWS network.

· Identify and drive opportunities to repeatable tasks through providing continuous automation improvements at scale.

· Drive event deep dives for large-scale events, deliver high-quality documentation for the events and drive corrective actions to completion.

· Analise constraints, failover patterns, scaling demands, and topology architecture to ensure seamless network service for our customers.

· Create and implement changes on the network.

· Deliver simple, sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.

· Work closely with our broader Network Engineering & Deployment teams to ensure operational readiness for new deployments.

· Drive standards across the network and ensure that we are fully compliant to those standards and policies.

· Improve our detection mechanisms by designing and implementing new alerts.

· Create and review documentation and process regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, knowledge transfer material, etc.

· Influence technology roadmaps, construct and test solutions.

· Effectively contribute towards hiring and developing others in the team.

Basic Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree

  • Professional experience working in large scale networking environments.

  • Professional experience with internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, ISIS and/or OSPF

· Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.

· Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment

· Professional experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming.

Preferred Qualifications

· Knowledge of network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills

· Experience working with customers to diagnose a problem, and work toward resolution

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
