Role

As a Sr Storage Engineer within Cloud Infrastructure Storage, you will work with a technically diverse team of storage engineers. You and your team will maintain and ensure the scale, performance and reliability of the storage fleet meets and exceeds requirements.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Daily break/fix queue responsibilities

  • Deployment of new storage systems and manage a worldwide fleet of storage arrays.

  • Moderate project work

  • Manage and resolve challenging break/fix storage cases with and for ServiceNow partners.

  • Ensure that all storage capacity, reliability, and performance needs can be met, on schedule.

  • Collaborate with multiple different technical teams, including storage vendor support teams, to resolve issues and create new efficiencies.

  • Create and/or refine existing processes and procedures to improve efficiencies within the environment.

  • Continually learn new cloud and storage technologies as they are introduced into the environment.

  • Involve others to accomplish personal and group goals.

To be successful in this role you have:

  • 4+ years in enterprise storage operations and/or engineering.

  • Ability to troubleshoot multiple complex technical issues.

  • Advanced understanding of multiple storage protocols and array types

  • Commitment to quality of work and attention to detail.

  • Good understanding of enterprise class storage hardware (e.g., Dell, Pure, HP, NetApp, etc.).

  • Good understanding of different storage protocols like NFS, iSCSI, and NVMe/NVMeOF.

  • Working knowledge of networking/server architecture and hardware.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of Networking, CentOS/Red Hat Linux, and VMware ESXi.

  • Excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong documentation skills with particular emphasis on technical processes and standards.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and modify existing processes and procedures as needed.
