Cardinal Health Operations Manager in Dublin, Ohio

Operations Managers function within a multi-team Agile development environment by overseeing infrastructure, software quality, and security operations while collaborating and coordinating with product development teams in meeting the objectives of developing products that will bring healthcare and technologies together to transform healthcare into a safer and more cost-effective industry.

The successful applicant for this position will work with 8+ product development teams on a Medication Therapy Management software platform used nationally by tens of thousands of pharmacists daily, to improve healthcare outcomes for tens of millions of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Servant Leader responsible for managing/coaching agile software development and technical operation teams in delivery of software products to market.
  • Responsible for networking, infrastructure, automation, configuration management, and developer enablement platforms.
  • Responsible for monitoring, managing, improving, and reporting on site reliability and various Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Responsible for platform-level integration and user acceptance testing, and defect triage processes.
  • Owns disaster recovery plans and SLAs around RPO/RTO.
  • Partners with stakeholders and product teams to establish and manage expectations around milestones and schedule, owning issues, risks, and mitigation plans.
  • Optimizes production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability, security, and performance.
  • Assists with internal and external communication by radiating information, especially relative to platform quality, security, and performance.
  • Fosters a passionate culture of continuous improvement through maintenance of metrics, team retrospectives, change management, process improvement, and encouraging risk taking.
  • Demonstrates effective and efficient capability in identifying, proposing, and soliciting innovative solutions to complex, time-critical challenges.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development, and responsible for talent retention and acquisition.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 8 years experience in delivering software products, with 4+ years management/leadership.
  • Experience with managing shared services and distributed teams.
  • Experience interfacing with stakeholders/customers to address outages, provide status updates and communicate solutions.
  • Strongly preferred experience in an Agile culture with the proven ability to coach teams and stakeholders in practice adoption and maturity.
  • Proven experience driving operational improvement in large development organizations with codebases of various levels of maturity.
  • Must have exceptional written and verbal communication and time management skills.
