Support curriculum and transfer of academic credit system, operational deliverables, schedules, reporting and analytics. Think creatively, anticipate needs, test solutions, and describe defects to system functionality. Monitor processes and help troubleshoot when problems arise. Establish strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues on all UMN campuses. Deep knowledge of student records business processes and ability to lead change management and communicate with diverse audiences. Clarify the business needs of a group of stakeholders and help find solutions to meet those identified needs. Provide leadership to help establish departmental goals and objectives; this position will also serve on the Office of the Registrar leadership team. Foster strong collaboration across all units within Enrollment Management and contribute to the success of the entire enterprise. Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 Essential Job Functions, Duties & Responsibilities This is a hybrid position that requires in-person presence with the opportunity for remote work. (50%) Business & Systems Analysis Analyze, design, program/encode, test, and troubleshoot the transformation of university curriculum and academic decisions into available information systems and student academic records. Assess academic policy and requirements to identify curricular issues that may impede students' progress toward the degree and academic objectives. Understand the relationships of student records related systems, including Oracle/Campus Solutions, curricular systems (Coursedog), transfer and degree audit systems (APAS), etc. Support Office of the Registrar business process operations, providing direct services in the areas of information system research and support, operational calendar maintenance, scheduling and troubleshooting technically complex batch jobs including error report reconciliation. Analyze, design, and maintain operational student records data analytics and the UMD Office of the Registrar operational schedule. Support daily operations of departmental business processes and student information system(s). Understand and use best practices and industry standards for the benefit of students, staff, and faculty and external stakeholders. Perform on-going analysis and evaluation, establish performance benchmarks and enhance business processes and requirements in line with departmental goals. (30%) Leadership Recommend short and long-term goals for the department; participate in the establishment of departmental objectives and policies in line with the campus and university mission; assist in preparation of department budget. Identify and promote student records, admissions, enrollment services and academic unit processes that will improve overall service quality. Use qualitative and quantitative data to support data driven decisions and ensure achievement of strategic enrollment management goals. Utilize best practices in all areas including change management for efficiency and effective service excellence. Maintain a broad understanding of the interrelated business processes in student administration. Possess extensive knowledge of and remain in compliance with federal, state, local regulations and professional standards. Collaborate to manage operations, solve problems, enforce policy and communicate effectively. Perform various personnel actions including hiring, performance evaluations, professional development, and salary recommendations. (10%) Communication Collaborate with a diverse group of managers and decision makers to identify and solve a variety of problems associated with busine s processes. Consult with stakeholders on needs assessment with academic policy, business practices and student information systems. Translate system design into written test plans and functional documentation. Develop reports, flow charts, diagrams, and other supporting materials to illustrate processes. Write effective documentation and training materials and coordinate and/or deliver ongoing training. (5%) Special Projects Collaborate with various UM Systems experts on a variety of projects; Administer projects that require the ability to manage scope, timeline and resources to meet deliverables that are both technical and operational connected to our robust and complex, student information systems Provide resolution to system integration problems and implement best practice options for system efficiency. Provide analysis, development, testing, documentation, and post -go live support for the implementation of projects. Support the departmental involvement in system evolution, minor and major upgrades and the investigation and adoption of new services including support of knowledge transfer. (5%) Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS degree and at least two years of experience, or a master's degree Preferred Qualifications Master's degree with at least four years of experience in the areas of business or systems process analysis Experience with analyzing and building programming logic and data queries, and delivering user-friendly reports using standard query tools (such as, SQR, SQL, etc.) Experience with writing business process documentation and specifications. Ability to engage stakeholders in meaningful and effective ways Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and balance competing priorities. Experience in data analysis, report writing, information system analysis, business process analysis, and change management.
