Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Security Dispatcher in Durant, Oklahoma

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for dispatching emergency and non-emergency calls for Tribal Security and Tribal EMS. You will report to the Dispatch Supervisor.

Primary Tasks:

  1. You will use a computer aided dispatch system, receives and log calls for service, determine priorities, and dispatches necessary Security or on-site EMS units following established procedures.

  2. Maintain contact with all units on duty; maintain status and location of Security and EMS Units.

  3. Assist the Supervisor in training, direction, and evaluation of the activities of trainees.

  4. Answer non-emergency calls for assistance.

  5. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Have or can maintain certification

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and time management skills.

  • Communicate with groups and individuals both orally and in writing.

  • Must have knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software.

  • Previous dispatch experience preferred but not required
