Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Durham, North Carolina

Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join a fast-growing construction/contracting company located in Durham, North Carolina. A bachelor's degree, supervisory experience and construction experience are required for consideration. You will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting activities of the department, as well as ensuring the financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles and/or financial reporting standards. Responsibilities:

• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Administration activities.

• Oversee the production of financial reports.

• Prepare and/or review appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations.

• Maintain the general ledger system and fixed assets

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements

• Provide analysis of monthly financial results.

• Audit accounts regularly for accuracy.

• Coordinate with outside CPA firm

• Oversee job costing activities

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements and regulatory reporting including payroll, sales, and income taxes.

• Assist other departments as they develop strategies, establish objectives, and make decisions that could have a financial impact on the business.

• Assist CFO with creating annual budgets.

• Provide monthly departmental budget reporting and variance analysis

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction or contractor industry

• Proficient in ADP - Financial Services

• Capability to handle all Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Auditing procedures

• Ability to manage Billing Functions accurately

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Proficient in Financial Reporting

• Understanding of Job Cost calculations

• Ability to Process Biweekly Payroll

• Proficiency in Sage Software and Sage Timberline Software

• Experience with Fixed Assets accounting

• Ability to calculate and report Monthly Sales Tax

• Knowledge of General Ledger procedures
