R&D Tax Manager essential tasks: Manage and deliver R&D services to clients, including tax credit calculation, claim preparation, and advisory services: Conduct tax credit and studies through client interviews, reviewing client data, developing tools and templates to be used and preparing technical reports Consult on inventory and revenue, expense recognition, DPAD, and transaction cost analysis Create technical plans related to R&D/accounting method matters Provide audit defense assistance for clients Additional Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong client relationships on various tax consulting/compliance engagements Manage engagements and ensure client service delivery exceeds expectations Keep up to date with current R&D tax practices and changes in tax law Meet with clients and prospective clients to discuss their engagement needs and questions; analyze issues and identify additional services Review work completed by other staff Delegate and manage workflow, engagements, and projects to ensure timely completion Manage, develop, mentor, and train staff Recognize, anticipate, and resolve tax issues; make recommendations Manage client relationships; demonstrate the desire to be an intricate part of business development and marketing strategies Market firm services to existing and prospective clients Ideal Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, engineering, computer science or other related field from a four-year college or university. CPA is preferred. Five+ years of experience in R&D federal tax related work in a public accounting firm or corporate taxation experience.
