When it comes to environmental consulting, we’re focused on cleaning up our communities today to improve tomorrow. We’re looking for an Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Geoscientist to work on site characterization and remediation projects for government and private-sector clients.  

Based in Edmonton, you’ll learn from other experienced scientists, engineers and project managers who are ready to mentor you, and you’ll pass your knowledge on to others. With challenging projects to engage you, you’ll continue to gain valuable  experience in the delineation, monitoring, remediation and reclamation of potential contaminants in soil and groundwater. . We’ll rely on you to lead field programs such as: shallow soil drilling and sampling, installing and sampling groundwater monitoring wells and monitoring and sampling various types of remediation systems. Your field experience should be significant, as we’ll expect you to recommend potential modifications to the project management team that would improve safety, efficiency, cost, and/or compliance of field investigations. You’ll balance your field work with working on data interpretation and visualization, report writing and coordinating logistics for field activities. Safety will be your priority, as you contribute to “incident free” operations and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety in everything you do.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, or related field.

  • Professional on-the-job experience related to performing and leading environmental field work for site characterization and remediation projects, and an understanding of methodology and procedures.

  • Knowledge and experience working with various media (e.g., soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations, data assessments/evaluations, and remediation technologies.

  • Professional experience installing wells and supervising soil excavations.

  • Registration with APEGA either as a professional or as a member in training or the ability to obtain through reciprocity of an alternate professional registration.

  • Demonstrated experience working with relevant regulations, particularly those related to risk-based remediation in the AB and BC regulatory environments.

  • Experience with various remediation techniques (air sparging, ISCO, etc)

  • Must hold a valid AB drivers license.

  • Ideally, You’ll Also Have: 

  • Experience working on active project sites and overseeing subcontractors.

  • Strong attention to detail when conducting field work and evaluating data.

  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills to communicate clearly and provide detailed reports.

  • Familiarity with site reclamation work (DSA, weed surveys, etc.).
