Our Americas Distribution Services Division (ADSD) provides governance and administration of Cat® dealers across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America.

As the Senior Marketing & Sales Operations Representative, you will be responsible for applying previous experience and knowledge of process improvement methodologies to improve dealer marketing and sales capabilities and overall customer experience. The individual is a liaison between dealers, customers, and other Caterpillar personnel. The Senior Marketing & Sales Operations Representative is very familiar with the company’s processes, systems, and methodologies. The individual is accountable for contributing to the identification, analysis, and resolution of marketing and sales distribution needs and problems in assigned disciple/district. The individual performs analysis work, identifies, and resolves larger problems that are less tactical and more strategic in nature.

What You Will Do

  • Advising dealers on marketing, sales, and customer-related strategies, systems, and processes.

  • Counseling dealers in developing increased human performance capability such as identifying performance gap solutions.

  • Advising on existing and potential customer experience issues and improvement measures such as recommending ways to enhance market coverage and customer experience through training, technology enabled and bundled solutions, etc.

  • Consulting with dealers on marketing and sales strategy planning including developing strategies and plans to improve dealer effectiveness and identifying potential opportunities for increasing sales.

  • Consulting with dealers on process improvement methods and assisting with process evaluation.

  • Assisting dealers in business planning and on effectiveness of meeting expected business results.

  • Overseeing and promoting programs that increase sales while achieving targeted price realization and profit margins.

  • Begin developing skills in reading and interpreting financial statements, translating actions into impact on dealer financial measures (revenue, profit, and loss) and consult with dealers in this area.

  • Continuing to develop required proficiency level in the specified capabilities and skills.

  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

  • Ensures that assumptions and received wisdom are objectively analyzed in decisions.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Organizes potential problem solvers and leads problem resolution efforts. Uses varying program problem-solving approaches and techniques as appropriate.

  • Analyzes and synthesizes information and devises alternative resolution strategies.

  • Develops successful resolutions to critical or wide-impact problems.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

  • Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes, and monitors significant projects.

  • Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.

  • Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.

  • Communicates reporting requirements; creates monitoring and control mechanisms.
