Emerson EHS Engineer in EGER, Hungary

Based in Eger, Hungary, as an EHS Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the organization aligns with all environmental, health and safety laws. You devise safety plans, monitor practices to ensure compliance, write safety policies and procedures, and respond to emergencies as needed. You also review the impact the company has on the environment and create plans to minimize or eliminate any impact on the company's surroundings.

We are one of the leading brands of pneumatic components and systems as well as individual applications. As one of Emerson's largest pneumatics factories, the Eger factory has been offering products and services for machine manufacturing and industrial automation for more than 50 years.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Contribution to work, fire, health, environmental protection, conducting trainings, audits and inspections.

  • Collaboration with the central EHS team and the Hungarian authorities.

  • EHS audits of subcontractors.

  • Provision of EHS metrics, data reporting, compiling improvement proposals and support for investments and projects.

  • Participation in risk assessments / evaluations.

  • Waste management.

  • Participation in installation and commissioning procedures.

  • Operation of ISO14001, ISO45001 systems.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • MSc degree in work safety and minimum BSc in technical field.

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a multinational company.

  • English language knowledge – intermediate level; Hungarian knowledge - professional level.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team.

  • Agile, „can do” demeanor and high integrity.

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

  • Experience in automotive industry or in mechanical engineering environment is an advantage.

  • Background in continuous improvement and root cause analysis.

  • Fire safety certificate.

  • Lifting equipment administrator.

  • Environmental protection qualification.

  • Knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001 systems.
