Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provides medical education to medical students/residents

  • Participates in research activities and/or projects

  • Performs a wide variety of ophthalmologic surgical procedures

  • Provides in-patient and out-patient care

  • Provides on-call coverage, as scheduled

  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology

  • Strong work ethic and good team player

  • Experience in teaching students and residents

  • Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

  • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.D/D.O.

  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency training in Ophthalmology

  • Successful completion of additional training in glaucoma surgery

  • Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
