Position Description:

Supports the program director by performing administrative duties related to planning, directing and coordinating both the academic and operational activities of the program.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Complete research applications and submit updated documentation through the institutional Review Board (IRB)

  • Advising research personnel in preparing research protocols and subsequent submission for IRB review.

  • Maintaining IRB required record keeping and electronic data entry.

  • Assists with research subject consenting and schedule research appointments.

  • Attains and maintains comprehensive and up to date knowledge of human subject research protections and IRB operations.

  • Coordinate departmental research meetings.

  • Coordinates travel arrangements for conferences.

  • Assists in preparing conference poster presentations.

  • Assists with research grant logistics.

  • Assists Faculty in planning and developing clinical trials.

  • Assists with manuscript submission for publication.

  • Provides administrative support to faculty and residents, as needed.

  • Process and supervise research volunteers.

  • Assists with department education conferences.

  • Provides administrative back-up coverage to the Residency and Fellowship coordinators.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes.

  • Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork).

  • Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must be detail oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to muti-task efficiently.

  • Ability to take direction and adapt to changing work environments.

  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of University and research institution contracts.

  • Research experience with human subjects.

  • Experience with IRB platforms (IRIS, IRBNet, etc.)

  • Knowledge of good clinical and academic practices in conducting research.

  • Bachelor's degree or field related experience.
