About the role:

Liquid I.V. is looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, and results-driven engineer to join our R&D team as a Process Engineer. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Technical Commercialization, this role will support core expansion and continuous improvement projects. The Process Engineer will work hand in hand with the Innovation team and will have a direct impact on the successful launch of our products. You will be an integral member of the LIV R&D team and will have cross functional collaboration within all levels of the business.

The ideal candidate has a background in process engineering, process validation, product commercialization, and direct hands-on manufacturing in food science and wellness.

Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for monitoring the technical commercialization of new formulations at manufacturing facilities, which includes managing plant trials, coordinating tech transfer process, and ensuring that products are successfully manufactured to meet high standards and consumer’s expectations.

  • Support validation and implementation of premix process activities including the evaluation of new & existing ingredients and new production technology.

  • Be the technical liaison at our manufacturing sites and serve as the subject matter expert in powder manufacturing and process engineering.

  • Travel frequently to our manufacturing partner sites to represent R&D.

  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain functions to ensure products consistently deliver on product design and integrity.

  • Collect and analyze process and quality data from manufacturing partners & 3rd party laboratories to generate final validation reports.

  • Identify process challenges, perform root cause analysis to mitigate gaps by recommending technical solutions.

  • Develop and implement best manufacturing practices and SOPs to drive continuous improvement at manufacturing sites.

  • Possess a strong sense of ownership to accomplish Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and be able to manage projects independently or in a team environment to meet project timelines.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with specialization in Food Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field is required. Dry-powder and packaging experience is preferred.

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in technical commercialization of beverage products with:

  • 2+ years’ experience in powder formulation development is preferred.

  • 3+ years’ experience working in high-speed powder blending facility is required.

  • Experience with statistical process control is preferred.

  • Strong organizational & teamwork skills, ability to prioritize/multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Frequent (25-50%) domestic & international travel to manufacturing facilities is required.

  • Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience with Lean Six Sigma is a plus.

  • Strong working knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality assurance principles, specification development, and pilot scale to full-scale product commercialization.

  • Understanding of regulatory compliance of cGMP, GRAS, and HACCP.

  • Demonstrated analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to define problems, collect & interpret data, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions.

  • Excellent written & oral technical communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic working environment.

Work Environment:

  • Hybrid / Office environment with 25% - 50% travel to manufacturing sites.

  • Or Remote with 25% - 50% travel to manufacturing sites.

The expected base salary range for this position is $96,000 to $110,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget.
