Summary:

Ensures co workers are preparing patient trays correctly. Delivers and picks up patient trays if needed. Assists in daily and weekly clean up. Ensures food is labeled and stored at the proper temperature and documented daily. Washes dishes and documents the proper temperatures on the dish machine if needed. Delivers menus to patients if needed. Has knowledge of all standard diets. Able to communicate effectively with co workers and customers. Works under minimal supervision on project priorities. Estimating food needs from past records. Has basic skills for baking and cooking as well as skills for prepping items. Has an understanding of the Quality Approvement Plan/Project and helps maintain our goals. Helps with community functions. Inspects and requests repair for equipment if needed. Lead by example. Cook all meals for the café or for patients and ensure it at the standards of the diets. Adhere to serve safe skills and infection control. Knowledge of all areas to be able to coach, train or step in if needed. Prepare and cook for special functions. Do recipe and cost analysis. Order food and supplies, assist manger with duties as assigned. Quality and Quantity control for café/patients.

  • Ensure food safety by properly storing, preparing, cooking and serving food at safe amounts of time and temperature.

  • Proper Handwashing Techniques

  • Demonstrates knowledge of basic and modified diets

  • Observes safety rules

  • Participates in the Quality Improvement plan and activities

  • Use creativity and imagination

  • Observes that all Temperature and cleaning charts are up to date

  • Helps oversee portion control daily

  • Prepares and cooks any special function

  • Provides excellent customer service, both for internal and/or external customers.

  • Responds to phone calls, voice mail messages, and emails in a timely manner.

  • Met/accomplished prior year performance evaluation goals set under service pillar.

  • Reliable and responsible with attendance and adherence to schedules

  • Maintains a courteous and professional manner

  • Makes self available upon patient or staff requests

  • Understand the Test Tray Procedure

  • Knows the phone etiquette for Food Service for single and double ring

  • Carries out other duties as assigned

  • Leads by example

  • Cook Meals for café and patients daily

  • Knows all areas of the kitchen for call outs and emergency staffing

  • Seeks out ways to reduce operating costs or increase efficiency within role/department.

  • Acts in a cost-conscious manner with regard to use of supplies.

  • Met/accomplished prior year performance evaluation goals set under finance pillar.

  • Contributes in ways to improve productivity and cost control

  • Proper use of organization property and equipment

  • Works regular budgeted hours

  • Records all food waste on tally sheet and reduces or increases accordingly.

  • Food Estimate needs on past functions

  • Helps with community functions if needed.

  • Supervision of food storage and waste tally sheets

  • Looking at cost for all functions as well as the food served at all times

  • 6 week rotating menu for the café and 2 week rotating menu for the patients
