Salary range:

$18.56 - 26.92 USD per hour, depending on experience. Graduate Practical Nurse / Overview The Graduate Practical Nurse unit protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response and through advocacy in the care of individuals and families. The nurse is responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services Hospitals and Nursing Division policies, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the Bill of Patient Rights. The LPN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • A graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.

Preferred:

  • Previous clinical experience in a hospital setting.

License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • Current New York State Practical Nurse License.

  • CPR Certification within 3 months of hire

Work Environment

  • Work is performed in resident care areas, which require working in proximity to other employees and residents. Rooms are air-conditioned and heated.

  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.

  • Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.

  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.

  • PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies.

Age of Patients Served

  • Early Adulthood: 18 to 45 Years

  • Middle Adult: 46 to 59 Years

  • Late Adult: 60 to 79 Years

  • Elderly: 80+ Years

  • HIPAA Roles-Based Access to Patient Information

All – Access to patient information, including restricted information – Level 4.
