Responsibilities

This is a remote position.

The System Director of System Strategy will support the development and execution of system-wide strategic planning processes and lead specific system-wide strategic initiatives, including supporting the development and implementation of the next strategic plan beyond CommonSpirit 2026. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader with a deep understanding of healthcare strategy, analytics, and partnership development, along with a commitment to our organization's values and faith-based mission. The System Director of System Strategy is a critical thinker and problem solver with strong written and verbal communication skills, who possesses a deep understanding of healthcare industry trends, strategies, scenario planning, and strategic analytics. This role requires a leader with experience and comfort interacting with and advising all levels of a complex organization, including executive teams and key stakeholders. The System Director of System Strategy must possess a high-touch service orientation toward matrixed cross-functional leaders and internal customers as well as an attention to detail and ability to drive initiatives to measurable results on-time, within budget, and meeting desired objectives.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Facilitate and support strategic direction and thought leadership for the system-wide strategic planning processes and initiatives in alignment with the organization's mission, strategic priorities, and desired brand positioning. Provide strategic advice and guidance to executive leadership on strategy development and execution, including strategic planning processes beyond CommonSpirit 2026.

Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and lead the implementation of comprehensive strategic plans at the system level aligned with the organization's mission, vision, brand identity, and positioning, and long-term objectives. Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to identify growth opportunities, market trends, and strategic priorities.

Innovation and Technology: Leverage strategy, analytics, and approaches to accelerate performance and maintain a leading edge in strategy effectiveness and growth.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategy efforts with organizational objectives and strategic positioning. Engage with key stakeholders to advance the health system's mission. Operate internally and externally with a high-touch, customer service, and data-driven orientation.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of strategic initiatives. Monitor financial performance and other relevant metrics to assess

the effectiveness of strategies and drive continuous improvement. Provide regular reports and analysis to executive leadership to inform decision-making and strategy development.

Integration and Change Management: Establish and oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives across the health system. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational culture,

values, and goals.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to strategic planning. Identify and mitigate risks associated with strategic initiatives.

Work Management: Collaborate with a high performing team of strategy and analytics professionals. Facilitate and support the continuous improvement of the strategy function, optimizing culture, collaboration, processes,

technologies, and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness at the system level.

Culture: Foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, results-driven, and innovative organizational culture, aligning efforts with the organization's values and future direction.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred (or commensurate experience).

  • Proven experience (minimum 5-10 years) in healthcare strategy and analytics, with a track record of success in driving growth and executing complex strategic initiatives.

Pay Range

$68.76 - $99.70 /hour
