Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment disbursement, vendor communication, and reconciliation of accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a keen eye for accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents to confirm accuracy of pricing, quantities, and terms.

• Code invoices with appropriate general ledger account codes and cost centers for proper allocation and tracking of expenses.

• Perform three-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents to facilitate timely payment processing.

• Prepare and process weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc payments via check, ACH, and wire transfer, in accordance with payment terms and schedules.

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly, maintaining positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.

• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues in a timely and professional manner.

• Assist in month-end closing activities, including preparation of accruals, account reconciliations, and analysis of accounts payable aging.

• Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical records of invoices, payments, and supporting documentation.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounts payable function, and collaborate with team members to implement solutions.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or related financial role.

• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
