Job requires able workers to monitor working goat herd and working guard dogs while the goats and dogs are working at multiple worksites. Responsibilities of Goat Herder include: Safety and well-being of goats and guard dogs, this includes rounding up strays that have escaped fenced area. Ensures goats and dogs have fresh clean water at all times Feed goats and dogs on regular schedule Examine goats and dogs for signs of illness or injury Checks battery several times daily to ensure it is properly supplying power to electric fence. Walk perimeter of fenced area to ensure fence is connected and intact. Repair fence as required to maintain safety of goats and dogs. Set up or take down electric fence as required when moving goats to new locations Attach electric fence warning signs to promote public safety.
