Boeing Commercial Airlines is offering an exciting opportunity for a Gas Turbine Engine Inspector to join our Quality team based in Everett, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Employees will provide to customer copies of inspection reports, documents and media created during inspection.

  • Employees will use computing and video imaging systems to document inspection findings.

  • Employees will initiate and document any nonconforming conditions found during inspection.

  • These employees will use RVI (Remote Visual Inspection) equipment to perform These employees will perform audit/surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes.

  • Employees will assist operations with various tasks associated with limited access areas (e.g., FOD retrieval, p/n s/n verification, systems routing).

  • Obtain appropriate drawings/definitions, specification documents, or digital media using computing systems.

  • Operate precision measuring instruments, to perform various inspections.

  • Operate rigid/flexible fiber optic equipment/video imaging equipment (e.g., borescope) to inspect internal engine components/aircraft systems for anomalies (e.g., nicks, gouges, Foreign Object Damage (FOD)).

  • Use RVI, to locate and retrieve FOD, inspect inaccessible locations for blockage and/or interference of components.

  • Assist with Federal Aviation and Administration (FAA) conformity inspections, as requested. Identify and document non-conformance items, as required.

  • Record results and process paperwork of non-conformance items per Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.

  • Route parts/assemblies with appropriate paperwork to the Material Review Segregation Areas [MRSA] and to other areas (e.g., test facilities, labs, shops, supplier) as required.

  • Process non-conforming parts/assemblies per Material Review Board disposition on non- conformance records (NCR) (e.g., R/T, UER, NCR) consistent with the Quality Operating Instructions (QOI).

  • Interface with other organizations (e.g., supplier, customer, engineering, planning) to provide clarification and/or additional information (e.g., request for inspection information).

  • Maintain personal and tool certifications, as required.

  • Handle, use and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.

  • Assist other employees with functions, methods, and procedures by passing on information (e.g., tie-ins) and answering questions.

  • Must be able to work at heights up to 115 feet.

  • Obtain and maintain personal certifications as required to support job responsibilities.

  • Employment in this position also requires exposure to composites, aluminum alloys, skydrol, resins, sealants, steel alloys, titanium and potential exposure to electo-magnetic fields and electrical hazards.

  • Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience performing quality inspections on machined parts and mechanical assemblies.

  • Experience determining if discrepancies exist by obtaining information from multiple sources, (e.g., drawings, specifications.

  • Experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an operations environment.

  • Ability to work in confined spaces and fit through a 10X18 oval opening.

  • Ability to complete Fall Protection Training.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation or Aerospace.

  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

  • Ability to travel 10-20% of the time.

Typical Education:

High school graduate or GED preferred.

Relocation:

This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

This position is for 2nd shift.

Summary pay range: $23.00 - $47.56
