Position Overivew:

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Technical Integration Engineer within the KC-46 Airplane Integration Office. This position is located in Everett, WA.

This is a high visibility role responsible for technical integration and execution of the KC-46 Take-Off and Landing Data (TOLD) program. The KC-46 TOLD program offers software and data enhancements that will further advance the mission readiness and performance envelope of the world’s most capable multi-mission tanker. This exciting development program includes TOLD and Weight and Balance upgrades to Boeing’s Onboard Performance Tool (OPT) software for efficient cargo loading and management and expedited mission launch. The person selected for this role will have the opportunity to integrate across multiple business units, broaden skills across several engineering disciplines, and regularly interface with the United States Air Force customer.

The ideal candidate will be willing to stretch beyond their experience base and lead where process definition may not exist or is unclear. He/She will be self-motivated, able to work under consultative direction, has excellent people skills, and has the ability to negotiate, build consensus, and deliver results. A quick learner that possesses the ability to quickly understand complex technical concepts across multiple disciplines.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Senior and Lead Technical Integration Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical integration for the KC-46 TOLD program. Develop integrated plans, establish means to measure performance, monitor and enable technical development, execute risk & opportunity management, and manage all aspects of the projects to closure.

  • Continuously engage with teams responsible for TOLD statement of work.

  • Clearly communicate performance to plan, challenges, and mitigation plans with KC-46 Program, TOLD program, and USAF stakeholders.

  • Identify and maintain awareness of TOLD program dependencies. Develop and execute plans to address disconnects as they arise. Prioritize execution along the critical path.

  • Lead development of scope and content of planned follow-on improvement proposals and support customer and supplier negotiations.

  • Solid technical background in at least one of the following disciplines: Software, Avionics, Airframe, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion, or Systems, and an understanding of certification processes

  • Demonstrated record of successful management of complex airplane level integration projects from concept to in-service implementation, technical accomplishment, leadership, and good oral and written communication skills

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience ):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience with Program, Project and Product Management Best Practices

  • Experience working across multiple engineering disciplines

  • 5+ years of experience providing technical leadership for an engineering team

  • Experience as a self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills, and a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience ):

  • Active security clearance

  • Experience with Military or Commercial aircraft design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion, or Systems

  • Experience with delivery and certification processes, working with FAA regulations, and Regulatory Administration

  • Experience working across multiple business units and/or complex organizations

  • Experience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product lifecycle

  • Experience communicating with senior leadership and program customers

  • Ability to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclear

  • Ability to take ownership / initiative, pull teams together, establish battle rhythm, remove roadblocks

Typical Education/Experience :

Senior (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Lead (Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range (Senior - Level 4): $128,350 - $173,650 Summary pay range (Lead - Level 5): $157,250- $212,750
