Bentley Systems is currently seeking a Geotechnical Application Engineer to be based near our Exton, PA global headquarters. In this role, you will bring your geotechnical expertise to help new and existing Bentley Systems software users with overcoming their challenges using geotechnical analysis numerical software. The PLAXIS finite element-based software applications for soil and rock analyses are used all over the world by thousands of engineers faced with challenging construction projects (for example: foundations, deep excavations, tunnels, dikes, and offshore constructions).
We also offer our users educational services through workshops, courses, training, and expert advice. The educational services are offered as public events, webinars and in-house events at the user location. As a Geotechnical Application Engineer, you will be transferring the required knowledge and skill set to achieve successful advanced geotechnical analysis results and deliver high-quality products, projects and services.
Your Day-to-Day Helping users to select the appropriate modeling techniques
Explaining the results of highly complex Finite Element models
Teaching the users on the theoretical background of our software in order to understand their results.
Providing web-based and on- site user training
Assisting in the creation of project proposals for both fixed fees and time and material projects.
Providing detailed geotechnical software training and demonstration
Supporting product and license sales with benefit-oriented, workflow specific demonstrations that promote Bentley solutions using PLAXIS, Monopile Designer, and PLAXIS LE in close collaboration with our sales and technical teams
Answering complex questions on function and product best practices
Conveying user feedback to product development staff
Performing follow up, testing, and troubleshooting of products
Writing white papers and articles on best-practices
Validating software results
Maintaining awareness of relevant industry trends, best practices, and government regulations.
Be responsible for appropriate referral to other support and quality assurance areas
What You Bring To The Team
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering
1 - 5 years prior engineering related experience
Prior experience working with Plaxis, SoilVision or competing platforms (Flac, Rocscience, RS2)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical details
Must be self-motivated and proactive, possessing a strong desire to learn
Flexible attitude and willing/able to travel
P.E. preferred
Fluency in English: oral and written
Spanish language is a bonus
