Turner Mining Group Geologist in Fairbanks, Alaska

Join our dynamic team at one of Alaska's premier gold mining operations, nestled in the breathtaking wilderness of remote Alaska. We're seeking a talented Production Geologist to join us in our mission to unlock the potential of mineral resources. The rotational schedule is 2 weeks on/1 week off)

Position Overview: As a Production Geologist, you will play a crucial role in our client's mining operations, contributing to geological modeling, ore control, and resource estimation. You'll collaborate closely with mining engineers, exploration geologists, and the operations team to optimize production, ensure ore quality, and maximize recovery. This is a unique opportunity to apply your geological expertise in a challenging and rewarding environment surrounded by pristine wilderness and unparalleled natural beauty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct geological logging of ore bodies and surrounding rock formations.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of geological models to guide mining activities.

  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify geological trends, variations, and opportunities for optimization.

  • Provide geological input for short-term and long-term mine planning, including pit design, sequencing, and grade control.

  • Collaborate with exploration geologists to support exploration drilling programs and resource expansion efforts.

  • Conduct regular site visits to assess geological conditions, provide technical support to mining operations, and ensure compliance with geological standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.

  • Understanding of ore deposit geology, structural geology, and mineral exploration techniques.

  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex geological data.

  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

  • Willingness to work and live in a remote location in Alaska with a rotational schedule.

  • Authorized to work in the US without work visa sponsorship

  • Currently located in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest
