Actalent Lab Technician in Fairfield, Ohio

What You’ll Do:
As a Lab Technician, you’ll be an essential part of the team, contributing to the preparation, execution, and analysis of experiments. Your responsibilities will include:
Prepare Materials & Equipment: Accurately weigh and measure large quantities of solids and liquids for experimental use. Set up and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring everything is ready for experiments.
Conduct Lab Testing: Safely operate key laboratory instruments, including balances, pH meters, titration equipment, and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) machines. You’ll also assist in performing acid/base chemistry and other testing procedures, following established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Record Data & Results: Gather and document experimental data accurately in lab notebooks or digital formats, such as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Sample Preparation & Testing: Collect and prepare samples of incoming raw materials for testing, ensuring accuracy and consistency in testing procedures.
Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with engineers, scientists, and lab operators, providing support for their research efforts while ensuring smooth operations in the lab environment.
Lab Maintenance: Keep the lab organized, clean, and stocked with necessary materials and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.
What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who thrives in a team-based environment, has strong attention to detail, and is eager to contribute to impactful research. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed in this role:
Educational Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Additional certifications or coursework in chemistry or related fields is a plus.
Lab Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting, performing basic lab tasks such as pipetting, balance/pH testing, and following SOPs. Experience with chemical testing equipment is highly desirable.
Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills to clearly document data, communicate methods, and collaborate with team members.
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data entry, report generation, and presentation preparation.
Adaptability: Ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 20+ pounds to counter height and over shoulder level multiple times a day. Experience working in a Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) environment is required.
Teamwork & Attention to Detail: Strong team-oriented mindset, with the ability to follow detailed instructions carefully and ask questions when needed to ensure safe and accurate work.
