As a Group Service Advocate , responsible for providing excellent service to members, BAs and Brokers. Responsibilities include retention.

Hours: Monday through Friday from 9am-5:30pm EST (Monday through Wednesday in office on hybrid work schedule)

Location: 136-02 Roosevelt Ave Flushing, NY 11354

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide service to BAs, Brokers and Members

• Answer inbound call inquiries from BAs, brokers and members

• Using system, answer and resolve issues such as eligibility, enrollment, billings, and benefits courteously and accurately

• Proactively educate BAs, Broker and members for enhanced understanding on protocols and procedures

• Consistently meet established productively, schedule adherence, and quality standards

• Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain productive working relationship with others and contribute as an effective team member

• Actively seek out improvement opportunities

  • Assist BAs and Brokers on small group renewals

• Proactively make outbound calls to BAs and Brokers of renewing groups for upcoming renewal reminder

• Explain renewal process and assist BAs with necessary renewal forms

• Act as consultant to assist BAs on plan design/benefits changes to meet groups’ needs

• Work with Enrollment Department to ensure renewal with changes is received on timely basis and new benefits are installed correctly in system

• Enhance relationship with BAs through renewal process to improve group retention

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

  • Current license for Life and Health insurance or is able to obtain within the first month of employment

  • 1+ years of customer service experience

  • Trilingual, fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese)

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule in office Monday through Wednesday at 136-02 Roosevelt Ave Flushing, NY 11354

Soft Skills:

  • Proficient problem solving approach to quickly assess current state and formulate recommendations

  • Good communication and relationship building skills

New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $16.00 to $24.04 per hour. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
