Description of Work Unit

The College of Business is accredited by the AACSB , the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This distinction, held by only 5 percent of the business schools in the world, ensures that the College of Business is providing a top-quality education. The College has a faculty and staff composed of 67 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 82 special and temporary appointment faculty, 119 Administrative Professionals and 15 State Classified employees. This team serves over 2,400 undergraduate students enrolled in one of nine areas of study: Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, Management, Marketing, Real Estate, and Supply Chain Management. An additional 1,000 graduate students are enrolled in one of the College’s four graduate degree programs: the Master of Accountancy, Master of Computer Information Systems, Master of Finance and the MBA program with five options: Early Career, Executive, Global Social and Sustainable Enterprise, Online, and Professional MBA . While we are the largest undergraduate and graduate major on the Colorado State University campus, we strive to create a small college environment.

Position Summary

The Instructional Services Coordinator is a full-time, 12-month administrative professional position reporting to the Assistant Director of Instructional Services. This position is responsible for management and facilitation of processes for Instructional Coordinators and Graduate Assistantship programs within the College of Business.

Direct reports include Instructional Coordinators (ICs) that support faculty with online facilitation of courses and this position will also provide general supervisory support to graduate assistants.

The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Instructional Services unit will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.

Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Two or more years demonstrated supervisory experience.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management and developing/improving processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

  • Acute attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills (weighed more in interview process).

  • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive environment.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Experience with CSU’s LMS platform, Canvas.

  • Demonstrated understanding of online teaching and delivery technology.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with database and customer relationship management ( CRM /Salesforce).

  • Business operations experience.

  • Experience in staffing and scheduling.

  • General managerial competencies including: interviewing, performance evaluation, compensation process, coaching, conflict management, etc.

  • Knowledge of Graduate Programs curriculum and course design.

  • General knowledge of key employment laws, CSU policies, and employment best practices.

Duty/Responsibility

  • Interview, hire, and evaluate performance of all Instructional Coordinators (ICs) for the OPMBA and MCIS programs. This includes all day-to-day supervisory responsibilities including: onboarding, collaborating with faculty to assess needs for IC team, training ICs on Canvas learning management system and internal protocol for the courses, providing payment information to the College’s HR team, and coaching coordinators in best practices for teaching, coaching, tutoring, and supporting online students.

  • This position evaluates instructional coordinators based on student and faculty evaluations to ensure optimum performance. Provide ongoing feedback and training to maintain/improve performance of instructional coordinators.

  • Create training tools and operations manuals to coach best practices and provide best practices information for using technology, coaching/teaching coordinators to serve students, and develop, revise, and improve ongoing processes to ensure excellent support and customer service to online students.

  • Provide coaching on day-to-day interactions with instructional coordinators and problem solving as appropriate, and provide professional development opportunities, when available, for instructional coordinator team lead and ICs. Where it involves, IC’s, collaborate with leadership to solve problems in online delivery for both Grad and UG courses, address faculty and student concerns.

  • Improve onboarding and orientation processes for IC’s and recommend best solutions and optimum processes.

  • Anticipate problems and provide solutions to complex issues related to the day-to-day operations and operating systems of the various programs.

  • Consult with unit leaders to understand resource capacity and technology needs for operational effectiveness.

  • Remain up to date on University and College policies as it pertains to students, faculty, administration, employment, compensation, and university governance.

  • Assist with graduate programs supplemental pay processing and documentation.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Duty/Responsibility

  • Design, manage, and execute the Graduate Student Assistant ( GSA ) Program for College of Business. Confirm GSA budget and number of GSAs slots available. Design and communicate advertising and communications, nomination and application processes, notification of award, GSA training and orientation. Monitor of GSA assignments. Detailed communication and tracking of all assignments and awards throughout the process.

  • Interpret graduate programs accountability requirements into comprehensive data collection and reporting process. Develop and administer data collection processes, analysis, reporting, metrics, dashboards and summarizations for graduate programs accountability requirements.

  • Determine and implement program improvements for Graduate Assistantships including orientation, onboarding, enhancing GSA and faculty relationship facilitation, faculty expectations and support, logistical process enhancements, researching best practices, outreach to peers for insight, etc.

  • Serve as a point of contact for all GSAs for questions and concerns. Maintain up to date knowledge of policies and procedures related to student and faculty requirements and code of conduct.
