Electrical Engineer Position:

Starting your career, you will work in one of our many production facilities located in communities across the United States. There, you will lead production or maintenance employees, project teams, contractors or technical operations teams executing on critical initiatives and projects in a fast-paced, production environment. Although business processes vary, the design of the Electrical Engineer role is to provide appropriate exposure to the people management and technical aspects of engineering.

Your Work:

Electrical Engineer Position at Cargill Starches, Sweeteners, and Texturizing Solutions

  • Cargill is looking for Electrical Engineers to join our Electrical Hub teams at several location across the United States.

  • Electrical Engineers will be primarily focused on the electrical power system equipment as well as implementation and management of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Engineering Principles and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

  • This position is responsible for executing Electrical Capital projects as well as Electrical solutions in support of capital projects

  • Examples of Electrical Capital projects include:

  • Plant production expansions – adding Electric motors and motor control centers (MCC’s)

  • Electrical Power equipment Upgrades like Transformers, Distribution Switches & Breakers, etc.

  • Power Factor Correction – Energy Savings

  • Arc Flash Reduction

  • Replacement of obsolete equipment with newer technology

  • From day one, you will be an integral part of the team. You will have the opportunity to build specific skills, knowledge, and attitudes that will enable you to transition to various roles within Cargill.

  • As a Cargill Electrical Engineer, you will participate in a plant environment that is team oriented and fast-paced learning atmosphere where you will be interacting with cross functional groups such as Operation Supervisors, Process Engineers, Project Engineers and contractors.

  • Electrical Engineers at Cargill will get exposure to the plant Distributed Control System (DCS), Automation as well as Process Control Instrumentation

Starches, Sweeteners, and Texturizing Solutions

  • Cargill is a leading producer of fructose and high fructose corn syrup.

  • We produce dextrose, sucrose, citric acid and specialty starches – used in food, confectionary, brewing, and pharm.

  • Cargill Texturizing Solutions is a leading supplier of gelling and thickening agents as well as emulsifiers, focusing on supplying the global food and beverage industries. Texturizing Solutions offers specific solutions for improving stability, texture, consistency and shelf life in multiple food applications, based on a wide palette of ingredients including hydrocolloids, emulsifiers, lecithin, cultures, starches and soy flours.

  • Cargill also produces animal feed that ranges from cattle feed to fish food.

Environment:

  • The plant environment is team-oriented, fast-paced, and hands-on

  • Our environment will focus on Safety, Employee Engagement, Inclusion and Innovation

  • Our plants are industrial/processing environments

  • This role requires the associate to learn about the business through performing critical tasks executed within the production environment and will involve physical activity in our food, and/or grain processing facilities. This generally requires a moderate amount of physical exertion on a fairly regular basis. The work may also involve other conditions or exposures (i.e. heat, cold, grain dust, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary for this position is $78,000. The disclosed salary has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in electrical engineering to be/recently completed between Summer 2023 – May 2024

  • Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer

  • Ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures

  • Willing and able to relocate

  • Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually

  • Strong communication skills – written and oral

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous plant, production, co-op or intern experience preferred

  • Overall 2.7 GPA or higher preferred

  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties

  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
