Construction Material Tester

Location: Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Material Testing Technician to join our team. This role involves working in the field, taking samples of concrete and soil to ensure the ground that will be built upon is stable. The technician will spend most of their time in the field testing construction materials to determine compliance with building plans and specifications. This role is instrumental in ensuring that streets or buildings are constructed correctly. While prior material testing experience is a plus, we are also willing to train someone who has construction labor experience. Candidates with a geology experience focused on soil relating to building structures are also welcome to apply. This role requires independent work, basic math skills, effective communication, and flexibility with working long hours during the summer. Work Environment

• This role is primarily field-based, with 90% of the work taking place outdoors and 10% in the office.

• The work sites will mainly be before any building has been built, just dirt and concrete landscape.

• The successful candidate must be comfortable working outside in all elements and driving from jobsite to jobsite.

• Training will be provided by a tenured technician.
