Summary About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Military Analyst (Joint Concepts) for the US Army, Futures and Concepts Center, Directorate of Concepts, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach. Responsibilities Serves as a Military Analyst (Joint Concepts) performing as a subject matter expert (SME) in future Army concepts and operations with the Joint Force. Conducts primary and secondary research and analysis regarding National Defense Strategy, National Security Strategy, Army, Joint, and combined doctrine and operational concepts. Incorporates Army future force designs into joint, Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), other Service, and multinational partner written concepts and war games. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) experience to advise on army and joint warfighting concepts; AND 2) experience with joint military planning and project management to establish priorities and complete projects with internal and external stakeholders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
