What you will do:

This position is responsible for serving as the strategic arm to Child and Family Well-Being Operations dedicating time to building a prevention framework for the system of care and being the executive point of contact for the Lead Agency organizations in the appropriate geographical location.

How you will make an impact:

This is professional work supervising and directing employees; including but not limited to communicating with, motivating, training, evaluating employees, planning, and directing their work; and having the authority to effectively recommend actions such as: hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, promote, discharge, assign, and reward or discipline direct reports. Evaluates employees against established standards and takes appropriate actions when necessary (i.e., recognition, reward, corrective action, etc.). Builds partnerships with appropriate internal and external stakeholders needed to support a holistic child and family services. Maintains working knowledge of internal (child welfare, ESS, SAMH, etc.) and external systems of care (DOH, DJJ, APD, etc.) and how these systems of care overlap and interact. Responsible for making policy and operational recommendations that transform the system of care and enhance prevention services for children and families. Works in partnership with client advocacy groups, councils, and local community alliances to ensure services are provided and client rights are protected. Participates in regional and statewide meetings and conferences, representing the Department regarding Child and Family Well-Being related forums. Ensures the development and implementation of the DCF Strategic Plan. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field (equivalent years of experience can substitute for education requirements) required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in health and human services field preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in successfully developing high quality business strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in successfully overseeing operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with the overall organizational strategy and mission is required.

  • 5+ years of experience in the health and human services field OR workforce field is preferred.
